All-New Ford Kuga

Beautifully designed, remarkably efficient, more than capable.

As part of Ford’s commitment to electrifying our range, the New Kuga is available in Plug-in Hybrid. You can order the Plug-in Hybrid for 2021 delivery.

Ford’s advanced hybrid technology is designed to deliver a cleaner, quieter, more sophisticated approach to hybrid SUV driving.

Equally as sophisticated, the Kuga EcoBlue Diesel (FWD and AWD) offer advanced non-hybrid engine options. The choice is yours.

A seamless blend of petrol and electric power

Kuga’s advanced Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) technology combines a battery-powered electric motor with a 2.5-litre Duratec petrol engine. The hybrid battery can be recharged at home or public charging stations. Energy recaptured while braking also helps charge the battery as you drive. Fully charged, the Kuga PHEV can drive up to 56km§ on electric power alone, and a total hybrid driving range of up to 748 Km. Kuga Plug-in Hybrid is available to order for 2021 delivery.

EcoBlue Diesel: The smarter diesel option

The Kuga 1.5 and 2.0 litre EcoBlue diesel engines, feature the latest technology to improve power, torque and fuel economy, whilst reducing emissions. At 120 PS for the 1.5 litre and 190 PS for the 2.0, the Kuga diesel engines deliver impressive power output, with AWD available too. And depending on which you choose, you’ll also have the option of a manual or advanced automatic transmission.

Find out more about Hybrid & Electric

Effortless to own, the self-charging Kuga Hybrid’s 1.1 kWh battery is automatically replenished both by the 2.5-litre Atkinson cycle petrol engine and using regenerative charging when coasting or braking. Stored energy powers an electric motor to enhance performance, support petrol engine fuel efficiency, or deliver pure-electric driving. Kuga Hybrid automatically switches seamlessly between power configurations according to the driving scenario.

The best of both worlds (Hybrid)

Wherever the destination, the All-New Kuga Plug-in Hybrid uses two sources of power to get you there more efficiently. An advanced electric powertrain lets you make shorter trips of up to 56 km on zero emissions§, and can recharge anywhere you have access to mains power. For longer journeys, the conventional combustion engine ensures you can go as far as you need to, using powersplit technology to help recharge the Hybrid battery as you drive. While energy captured through regeberative braking also helps to extend your electric range even further.

Your personal driving assistant

Ford Co-Pilot 360 combines a range of technologies that, together, work to make your driving experience more comfortable and enjoyable. Adaptive Cruise Control automatically adjusts your speed based on the vehicle ahead. The system can even recognise speed signs and adjust your cruise control speed accordingly. Lane Centring technology can provide steering assistance by following road markings to help keep you positioned in the middle of your lane.

Important information at a glance

The head up display projects key information into your field of vision, so you can keep your eyes on the road ahead. Compatible with polarised sunglasses, the clear, bright image can display your preferred choice of content – including vehicle speed, navigation, cruise control notifications and Traffic Sign Recognition data.

Extra support for your engine

The All-New Kuga’s Ford EcoBlue Hybrid diesel option incorporates a small electric motor with a 48-volt battery to help improve engine efficiency.

This is a Mild-Hybrid Electric powertrain, which cannot be driven solely on electric power. Instead the electric motor provides additional support to the combustion engine when needed, helping both to increase your vehicle mileage, and reduce emission figures.

There is no need to connect the vehicle to an external power source, as the separate 48-volt battery pack which powers the electric motor is recharged while you drive. Regenerative braking works by redirecting energy from the brakes and back into the mild hybrid battery.

Unlock a world of connectivity

A built-in FordPass Connect modem* takes your Ford Kuga experience to the next level. With a host of useful features, including onboard Wi-Fi††, enhanced in-car navigation, and real-time traffic updates‡‡. Locate your vehicle, lock and unlock the doors, or if you have a vehicle with an automatic transmission, even start the engine remotely. And in the event of an accident, FordPass Connect can automatically send an eCall (emergency call) to the emergency services and let them know where your vehicle is.

If you own a Kuga Plug-In Hybrid, the FordPass app delivers even more features exclusive to PHEV. View your current battery level and driving range; monitor your driving and power usage patterns; locate public charging stations and set preferred home charging times. You can even pre-set your cabin temperature ready for a departure.

A system that can help protect pedestrians

Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection uses camera technology to scan the road ahead. If a collision risk with a vehicle, pedestrian or cyclist is detected, it’ll then provide you with a warning. If you don’t respond in time, the system can automatically apply up to full braking force to help reduce the severity of, or even eliminate, some frontal collisions.

Use less fuel with Auto-Start-Stop

When you stop at traffic lights or your vehicle is idling in a queue, this technology can automatically switch off the engine, while still supplying power to the essentials. When you're ready to move, just depress the clutch and select first gear as usual, or press the accelerator on an automatic vehicle, and the system seamlessly restarts. Auto-Start-Stop is particularly effective in town and city streets, where it can cut fuel consumption by up to 10% (urban cycle).

Flexible seating adapts to your needs

The dynamic Ford Kuga interior design gives you the ultimate freedom to adapt to every journey. Clever use of space gives you a generous 612-litres of boot space. Need more storage for a big trip, or prefer the luxury of extra leg-room in the back? The flexible rear seating slides forward or backward to suit your needs, increasing the rear storage capacity by 6
