Job description

Reports to: Service Manager

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Service Manager, this role is fundamental to the smooth day to day running of the workshop, providing technician support, delivering excellent customer service, and generating revenue.

The key responsibilities are:

Workshop Loading

· Planning for incoming work and distribution to technicians that will maximise quality and efficiency

· Communicating timelines and updates with service advisors and service manager to ensure clear accurate detail is available for the customer

· Liaising with parts departments to order parts avoiding down time, lost revenue and/or customer dissatisfaction

· Assisting technicians with technical challenges to identify a solution


· Ensuring 100% adherence to the VHC process


· Quality checking technician work and providing feedback/coaching when necessary – completes online quality checks

· Ensuring warranty standards are adhered to and all documentation is complete before passing to service manager for warranty submission

· Accurately completing technical reports and recommendations keeping technicians informed of any errors

· Design and carry out a weekly technician toolbox meeting

· Raising any equipment issues with the service manager immediately

Skill needed:

· Previous experience in a similar role in the automotive industry or qualified technician

· Excellent organisational skills

· Strong IT skills

· Ability to communicate clearly with customers and colleagues, face to face, by phone or email

· Excellent problem solving and decision making

· Decisive - can work on own initiative and take accountability

· Customer service experience
